 捣打料以碳化硅、石墨、电煅烧无烟煤为原材料，掺加多种超细粉添加剂，电熔水泥或复合树脂为结合剂制成的散状料体。用于填充炉身冷却设备与砌体间隙或砌体找平层用填充料。

捣打料化学稳定性好,耐冲刷,抗磨损,抗剥落,耐热震,广泛应用于冶金,建材,有色金属冶炼,化工,机械等制造行业！ 
酸性、中性、碱性捣打料广泛应用在无芯中频炉、有芯感应炉中，作为中频炉捣打料用以熔化灰口铸铁、球墨铸铁、可煅铸铁、蠕墨铸铁及铸铁合金，熔化碳钢、合金钢、高锰钢、工具钢、耐热钢、不锈钢，熔化铝及其合金，熔化紫铜、黄铜、白铜及青铜等铜合金等。

捣打料中一般不加增塑剂和缓凝剂之类的外加剂。所以水分比较低，当采用非水溶性有机结合剂时，混合料中无水。

在有些捣打料中，还使用耐火纤维作为增强材料。
