英国乐队The 1975将举办世界巡演
British band The 1975 have started 2014 on a high note, with their bags packed for a busy touring schedule. The Manchester four-piece took less than a year to go from playing gigs for a couple hundred people, to taking to the stage at London’s 5,000 capacity Brixton Academy.
The 1975 were tipped as the breakout band of 2013. But the boys had been gathering momentum on the Manchester scene for years, having released well-received EPs and supporting the likes of Muse and the Rolling Stones.
The band is excited to find out what 2014 has in store.
“We came out as quite an ambitious band and our ambitions are only really meeting up with reality now. So, this year is going to be fun,” said frontman Matthew Healy.
For the tour this year they will play Australia, Japan, Europe and America – including the Coachella Festival on April 13th, a few days after a night at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
Although life on the road can be amazing, the group admits it can be tough at times.
“It’s like anything, if you do it for that amount of time, for such a long period of time, there’s highs and lows and peaks and troughs regardless of what you’re doing,” said band member Gee Daniel. “Whenever anything gets to us, we all just realize what we’re doing and it’s just a crazy opportunity.”
The 1975’s world tour runs from Jan. 22nd to June 3rd.
