4月4日讯 据美国媒体《国会山报》报道，由于新冠病毒大流行迫使其多处房产持续关闭，特朗普集团不得不辞退、或者让在美国和加拿大的大约1500名员工暂时下岗。
《华盛顿邮报》报道称，上述涉及地区包括纽约、迈阿密、芝加哥、拉斯维加斯、温哥华和檀香山的特朗普酒店，这些员工要么被辞退，要么被迫暂时下岗。
报道称，由于新冠肺炎疫情暴发，特朗普集团自3月中旬开始陆续关闭一些酒店和度假场所。截至目前有17家场所关闭。
据报道，此次裁员包括加拿大温哥华特朗普酒店的200多名员工，以及芝加哥特朗普酒店2/3的员工。
此前一天，《纽约时报》曾表示，特朗普集团已就推迟偿还部分贷款一事与其最大债权人德意志银行进行了沟通。
今年3月，特朗普曾承认他的酒店和其他酒店一样陷入了困境。
在3月21日的白宫新冠疫情记者会上，他这样说道：“当你决定关停你的酒店和生意时，我不会说它（生意）繁荣。”特朗普进一步表示，“它（新冠肺炎疫情）伤害了我，伤害了希尔顿，伤害了全世界所有大的连锁酒店”。
