4月5日讯 据新奥尔良当地媒体报道，前圣徒踢球手汤姆-邓普西死于新冠肺炎并发症，享年73岁。
自2012年以来，邓普西就一直在和阿兹海默症以及痴呆症作斗争。他是新奥尔良一家高级生活机构的几位签约医生之一，在3月26日新冠检测呈现阳性，虽然几天前从新冠肺炎中康复，但好消息是短暂的，他最终还是没能逃过病魔的魔掌。
据维基百科记载，邓普西出生时右脚没脚趾、右手没手指。1969年，他以自由球员身份加盟圣徒，当年度就奉献63码的射门表演。离开圣徒之后，邓普西曾为老鹰、公羊、油人（德州人）以及比尔效力，但最后还是回到梦开始的地方，在新奥尔良退役。
