4月9日讯 据美国《国会山报》报道，当地时间8日，美国国家过敏症和传染病研究所所长福奇对福克斯新闻表示，他认为美国新冠肺炎最终的死亡人数将低于之前预测的10-20万。福奇表示：“虽然此前预测新冠肺炎将导致美国10-20万人死亡，但目前数据来看，最终的死亡人数将低于这一预测。虽然不知道确切的数字，但现在看来，最终死亡人数要比10-20万人少。”华盛顿大学预测，美国的死亡人数在6万人左右。福奇称，死亡人数下降是由于隔离措施得以实施，这些措施让人们留在家中，并关闭了众多企业。尽管情况有改善的迹象，福奇强调称，现在不能放松警惕，应继续强化防疫措施。
